Luckily, with error code 39, there is one recommended fix that can resolve the various underlying conditions that caused the error in the first place.

To fix error code 39, you are going to reinstall the device driver files for the device that is causing the error to occur. A standard fix for many of the driver errors that you might see is to reinstall drivers.

Here are the required steps to reinstall the device drivers:

  • Open Device manager on your computer.
  • Locate the device that is causing the error.
  • Click on the device and go to the Properties box.
  • Click on the Drivers tab on the Properties dialog box.
  • Click on Uninstall.
  • Follow all of the prompts that appear on your screen.
  • Restart your computer.
  • When the computer is started back up, return to the Device Manager.
  • Click on Action.
  • Click on Scan for Hardware Changes and follow the on screen directions.
  • Attempt to use the hardware again and see if the error code 39 appears again.

This re-installation should resolve the underlying problem and error code 39 should not happen again.
