About the Error
This error code appears when you try to connect to the wireless network to access PlayStation 3. The error also can occur when PlayStation 3 can still browse the Internet but you cannot sign in.
Windows code 80710102 - Repair instruction
Error code 80710102 is a Domain Name Server (DNS) error which is caused by a DNS problem with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). You can correct the problem by changing some options in the PlayStation 3 network and the DNS entries in the settings of your ISP connection.
When you are setting the configurations for the PlayStation 3 network make sure you use the Manual
option. If you are using a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) make sure the address resolution is set at Automatic
and then modify the Domain Name Server (DNS) entry to indicate Manual
. Proceed to change the Domain Name Server settings. For the primary DNS you should enter 18.104.22.168
and for the secondary DNS you should enter 22.214.171.124
. Check to ensure the Maximum Transmission Unit (TMU) is set to Automatic
and then enable the Universal Plug and Play (UPNP)
and then choose Save
. This will create a direct link from your PC to PlayStation 3.
It is highly likely that your Internet Server Provider uses Domain Name Server (DNS) hosts which are supplied by a third party provider. If this is the case, the third party provider may change a setting in their routing tables which can prevent you from connecting to the PlayStation 3 network.
