The problem lies in the networking and the router you may be using. PS3 can conflict with certain routers or the router can fail to work with PlayStation 3. Universal Plug and Play works on a set of networking protocols with ports that can be automatically directed to the appropriate location which can sometimes be the root cause of error problems. Before you begin to resolve the problem make sure that you uninstall everything that is causing the error to appear.
To try and resolve the problem turn off the Universal Plug and Play (UPNP)
and then access the LAN IP settings for your router
. In the settings add an alternate PS3 IP address to the list and enter the Media Access Control Address (MAC) for the PS3
. Access the WAN Setup for your router and enter the alternate IP address into the server box for the default DMZ server
. Shut everything down and then boot up everything in this order: modem, router, PC, and PS3.
Try the installation process again and see if you are able to play any games.
