You receive this error code when you try to start the Play Station 3 console and the presence of the error prevents you from starting the console.

Getting rid of the Windows code 80010514 notification

You will receive this error as the result of a damaged portion of your hard drive which your Play Station 3 console is trying to write on. The error can also be caused by damaged software or improper installation of the software or firmware. The error tends to appear while you are playing games or attempting to start PS3.

The easiest solution for this type of error is to try and reset the Play Station 3 console but the problem is that this seems to be a temporary quick fix and you will deal with the error message again in the future. You can also opt to remove corrupted files and restore the file system in PS3. To restore files, simply turn PS3 and then hold down the power button so the console will turn on and then turn off again. With the system turned off press the button again until you hear 2 beep sounds and then remove your finger from the button. Wait for the prompt and then connect the controller via USB and press the PS button to activate the Recovery menu. Choose Restore File System and then choose Agree to restore the file system. Once the system is finished restoring files it will automatically restart.
