You cannot sign in to Windows Live Messenger after this error code appears on your PC screen.
This error code can be caused by a number of different issues which prevent you from signing in to Messenger. You can begin to troubleshoot the problem by checking to ensure your browser is not set to work offline. Open Internet Explorer and then choose File
from the menu. Find Work Offline
in the drop down menu and remove the check mark. If the check mark is not there this is not causing the error problem.
Leave Internet Explorer open and click on Tools
on the main menu and then choose Internet Options
. Click on Connection
and then choose Refresh
to view information pertaining to the signal strength of your connection, account name, and type of connection you are currently using. To double check your connection run the Connection Troubleshooter

on the main toolbar in Internet Explorer and then choose Internet Options from the drop down menu. When the Internet Options window opens click on Security and then choose Internet and click on Custom Level. Check to make sure that all of the scripting options are enabled. In the Reset to list if your setting is set on high change it to Medium and then choose OK. Proceed to click on Privacy and locate the slider then move it to the Medium setting. Click on OK and try to sign in to Windows Live Messenger.
